Checking Items Off Your Bucket List

Have you created a bucket list?  Whether it is a physical list or one you have locked away in your brain, there are possible things you hope to someday complete, places to visit or things to experience before your time is up.

However, what is stopping you today from making plans to begin checking off several of those items by completing them, visiting places you want to see or trying new things you want to experience.  If you wait until SOMEDAY that someday may never come and as time goes by, you may begin to experience those feelings of regret.

If you don’t have a bucket list then spend some time soul searching and identifying at least 50 things, people, food or places you would like to experience, meet or visit.  Your list is only as limited as your imagination and your wiliness to try new experiences and visit new places.

Why not have a bucket list party with close friends and family and share your dreams, ideas, and suggestions.  Have fun building your bucket list.  Then prioritize those items on your list and decide which of the top three things you would like to focus on immediately.  You may have a few of your friends and/or family who would like to share the same experiences, places, food or meet the same people.

Ascertain what it would take for you to actually fulfill and complete these three items off your list.  Create a plan, than begin to take action to ensure you and possibly a few others close to you can meet your dreams and goals of getting items checked off on your bucket list.  Why not help each other to check off those items from each other’s bucket list.

No matter whether you have a job or own a business the whole purpose of having a bucket list is to have you push yourself out of your comfort zone, try new experiences, visit new places, try different foods and meet new people that you normally would not experience on a daily basis.

For example, here are 50 items I’ve taken from my own bucket list which you may also want to do and add to your own bucket list.  The ones with a bolded date beside the item are the ones I plan to work towards checking off from my own bucket list in 2017-2018, as I complete them.

Adventure:

  • Skydiving
  • Explore a cave
  • Ride a zip line ride – 2017
  • Whale watching – 2017
  • Ride a hot air balloon
  • Ride on a camel
  • Ride on an elephant
  • Ride in a Gondola
  • Swim with the dolphins

Places to Visit:

  • Step Foot in all 7 Continents
  • Visit Egypt and see the Pyramids of Giza
  • Visit Europe – 2018
  • Visit Tibetan
  • Visit India
  • Explore the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
  • Go on Safari, Africa
  • River Boat Cruise down the Mississippi River
  • River Cruise in Europe
  • Experience Mardi Gras, New Orleans

Places to Experience:

  • Visit the Louvre, Paris – 2018
  • Visit the Stonehedges in England – 2018
  • Walk the Great Wall of China
  • Visit the Taj Mahal, India
  • Take a boat ride and see Niagara Falls
  • Helicopter into the Grand Canyon, Arizona
  • Walk the Wave, Arizona
  • Ride in a Gondola in Venice, Italy
  • Watch the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, England – 2018

Things to do / experience:

  • Shop at the European Christmas Markets
  • Do the Polar Bear Plunge

Of course, for many items on your bucket list, it may take time, money or different circumstances for you to be able to fulfill and mark off the items from your list.  Therefore, why not get started today by planning to get at least three things done from your list in 2017.  Life is short and you never know what could happen.  Why not have fun with this exercise.
